About – Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course (AME Course)
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Exam (AME CEE) is the national level common entrance exam to offer admission for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course, Aerospace Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering Courses in approved Institutes by required government bodies.
An Aircraft is a complex and sophisticated machine comprising of Airframe, Engines, electrical, and electronic systems, Designing of aircraft is a complex task, which is performed by the experts, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering is the branch of engineering which deals in Research of design and manufacturing field of Aircraft, Aero Engines Rocket Propulsion and other systems related to defence aviation or civil aviation.
Flight Safety in aviation is the prime requirement. We need to have a skilled manpower acquainted with better technical & maintenance skills.
The aviation safety requires regular maintenance, inspection repair and modification of aircraft and systems.
Exam Syllabus:
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Exam comprises of one paper consisting of multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, G.K. & English with a motto and objective to enroll and induct student with good subject knowledge, so that our Indian Aviation can have Engineers with better subject quality, innovative vision and required perspective.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course Eligibility:
The candidates who desire to become AME have to fulfill following eligibility criteria:-
· Candidate must have passed 10+2(PCM) or equivalent AICTE approved 03 years engineering diploma or higher qualification in science with physics and mathematics at the time of admission.
· Candidates eligible for admission in B Tech Courses are also eligible for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course.
· Candidate’s age must be between 16 to 28 years at the time of admission.
· Candidate should not have color blindness and any physical disability.
· Candidate must have minimum 45% marks in 10+2 in PCM or equivalent (For keeping a better standard)
Duration of AME Course:
The duration of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course is Tentatively of 04 years which include minimum 02 years (to be more specific it is given in hrs as per category of License) academic program and 02 years practical training. The academic knowledge will be gathered at DGCA approved AME institute and live training will be held in flying environment such as Airlines, MRO etc. After completion of academic programme a student will get completion of course certificate (COR) then candidate has to undergo practical training for 02 years or above as per category and aircraft requirement. During this time, student may get stiffened. After clearing the modules, practical training and other DGCA requirement, license will be issued by DGCA. Then a licensed AME can work either in private or government sectors in India or abroad.
Category of AME License:
There are various category but as per popularity and demand following category are preferred by the students.
· B1 :- B1 is the license for mechanical stream in aircrafts. This license have been further divided in the following sub categories:-
o B1.1:-License B1.1 (Aeroplanes with Jet Engine.)
o B1.2:- License B1.2 (Aeroplanes with Piston Engine)
o B1.3:- License B1.3 (Helicopters with Jet Engine.)
o B1.4:- License B1.4 (Helicopters with Piston Engine)
· B2:- B2 is the license for avionics stream in aircraft. The avionics stream is related to
o Electrical System
o Instrument System
o Radio Navigation System
Each and every category and sub category has its own specific requirement and all have their own importance in aviation sector.
